2017 MATHCOUNTS Competition a success for both students and volunteers

March 1st, 2017 | By Meredith Boylan

The 2017 MATHCOUNTS Competition, proudly sponsored by the Augusta Chapter of the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) and coordinated by volunteers from Cranston Engineering Group and other local firms, was held Saturday, Feb. 11 at Augusta University. MATHCOUNTS is a national competition for students grade 6-8, and is carried out by local chapters to qualify students for the state level. This year’s competition hosted nearly 50 students representing six schools. We’d like to give a big thank you to Augusta University for donating the space, as well as all participants, coaches, and volunteers. We were truly impressed by the students’ knowledge and enthusiasm, and now cheer on our winners as they go on to compete at the state level this month. Wonderful work, everyone!
