Cranston was recently awarded the contract for 5th Street Improvements infrastructure project by the City of Augusta.
The approved concept, which runs from Taylor Street to Reynolds Street, proposes to reduce the width of the pavement while adding bike lanes and pedestrian improvements. The corridor will match the downtown streetscape appearance with wider sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps and will include replacement of streetlights and installation of street trees and brick pavers.
The project is a Band 3 TIA project and should take about 18 months to design and another 12 months for construction. We will have a front row seat to the construction as it progresses past our Augusta office. Similar to the Augusta Riverwalk project in years past, we are excited to continue our partnership with the City of Augusta in shaping the look of the downtown district for decades to come.
